Robin Piccone

About This brand

Robin Piccone revolutionized the swimwear industry with her innovative use of neoprene for Body Glove swimwear in 1986. Inspired by the wetsuits worn by surfers, her sleek body-conscious suits marked a turning point in swimwear design. Piccone’s interpretation of the surfer style created a fashion standard that has been widely imitated throughout the fashion industry. The Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s permanent collection includes two of her neoprene swimsuits. For her achievements in changing the swimwear landscape, Piccone was honored with the California Designer of the Year award.

Noticing the lack of fashion in contemporary swimwear, Piccone launched her signature label in 1992. Characterized by modern styling and innovative details for a wearable and flattering cut, Robin Piccone accentuates a body’s unique lines and curves without relying entirely on briefness to create a cutting edge look. Robin Piccone has been featured in magazines and newspapers such as Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Lucky, Sports Illustrated, Seventeen, Self, More, GQ and Women’s Fitness and is available at department stores and specialty chains throughout the United States.
